Choose your photo
Whether it is a child, a dog or your home, you need to find or take a photo that truly captures the personality of the subject well. Good photos are very important in the process and must be chosen wisely. Sharp, clear and in focus photos are important for me to see the necessary details clearly. A high resolution is also beneficial. A wide range of photos work best for me. I work from one main photo but I am always appreciative of extra photos for reference.
It is best when taking a photo of your pet to get down to the same level so the photo is not taken from above. It looks much more natural. Photos taken outside in natural light often produce much better photos with more detail showing.
Fill the viewfinder with the head and shoulders, whether it is a dog or person. It is much easier for me to see the details of a close up photo rather than enlarging an image that is too small. The quality does not improve and I still cannot see the details neccesary to produce a great portrait. If you are unsure about which photos to use, you can send them all and I will help you decide. When emailing the photos, do not reduce the size, send it as large as you are able to.
On many occasions, I am asked to create a portrait of pets and loved ones who have sadly passed away and unfortunately, there are not too many photos available of them. You can still send me what you have and I can tell you whether or not I can use them to create a special portrait for you.
Most portraits are ready in 2-6 weeks from the time of ordering. However, orders placed at Christmas time can take up to 3 months. Order by October 1 to ensure your portrait is ready for Christmas.
Send an email or telephone and let me know your requirements. We can discuss the size that you are interested in, medium as well as your budget. You can email all the photos that you have available to firstname.lastname@example.org
A 30% deposit is required for all portraits when the order is placed with the remainder to be paid when the portrait is completed. I will send you a PayPal invoice which can be paid using your PayPal account or credit card. Canadian residents will be charged applicable taxes.
To ensure that the client is happy with their portait, I will email a final high resolution, watermarked scan for approval. Any adjustments will be done at this stage.
Extra special care is made to make sure that your portrait arrives safe and secure. Shipping costs depend on your location and the size of your portrait. Please contact me and I will find the best rates available for you. Portraits may also be picked up or hand delivered by me if you live in my area. email@example.com
Words can’t describe how truly touched and appreciative my friends Louise & Claude felt when they unwrapped your ‘true to life’ portrait of their ‘baby girl’ Cleo. There were tears all round. They wanted to know immediately who did such a beautiful work of art. Cleo now enjoys a place of honour in their family room which is where they spend 90% of their leisure hours and where Cleo graced their lives for ten years.-Tina
